      Overview

      The Zscaler Essentials Platform (SKU: ZS-ESS-PLATFORM) is a comprehensive security solution designed to enable organizations to implement a zero trust security model. This platform provides secure and reliable internet access, limited private application access, and foundational security controls to protect against cyber threats.

      Each SKU requires a minimum subscription for 50 users, licensed on a per-user, per-year basis. Customers wishing to go below the 50-user minimum should consider the SecureDynamics Managed Service, which can accommodate as few as 20 users

      Features and Capabilities

      Traffic Forwarding and Identity Management

      • Supports multiple forwarding methods: Client Connector, GRE, PAC, Proxy Chaining, and IPsec.

      • Includes authentication and forwarding support for multiple Identity Providers (IdP), ZIdentity, and API access.

      Secure Internet Access (SIA)

      • Defense-in-depth controls for internet security.

      • Features include:

        • Content filtering

        • Antivirus

        • SSL inspection (including SSL Private Certificate support)

        • File type control

        • Bandwidth management

        • Internet Access Virtual Service Edge (as many as needed)

          For customers with more than 500 users:

          • Cloud Nanolog Streaming Service (NSS)

      • Shadow-IT Discovery: Identifies unauthorized application usage.

      • Tenancy Restriction: Prevents access to unauthorized SaaS instances.

      • In-line Web DLP (Monitor Mode): Supports two custom dictionaries.

      • SaaS API for 1 Application: Provides API access to monitor SaaS usage.

      Cyber Threat Protection

      • Advanced Threat Protection: Detects and mitigates sophisticated threats.

      • Correlated Threat Insights: Provides actionable threat intelligence.

      • Firewall Standard: Supports 10 firewall rules and 64 DNS rules.

      • Guest Wi-Fi Security: Protects guest Wi-Fi through DNS control.

      • Sandbox Standard: Analyzes .exe and .dll files for potential threats.

      • Cyber Isolation Standard: Applies to URLs in the miscellaneous category.

      Zero Trust for Workloads

      • Includes stateful filtering, access control lists, and logging.

      • Supports up to 1GB of monthly traffic (internet-bound) for:

        • Inline unauthenticated traffic

        • Cloud workloads

        • On-premise data center (DC) servers

      Digital Experience Monitoring

      ZDX for Zscaler Platform

      • One Private Access user for every 20 platform users.

      • Supports SAML authentication and SCIM provisioning.

        • Private Application and Server Discovery

        • Standard Device Posture Enforcement

        • Up to 10 Application Segments

        • App Connectors

        • Log Streaming and Health Monitoring
